Gas Fireplace Troubleshooting - Try this before you call for repairs

The gas valve dial  controls the amount of gas that comes out of the gas line. On the left-hand side, behind the logs is a button you can push in. This will ignite the flame in the gas fireplace. If you haven’t the gas fireplace since last winter, there could be air in the gas line. The solution is to push your gas dial in for about 20 seconds to get the gas flowing through the gas line again. Push the gas valve in to start it. The line should be pointing up to start the gas. To ignite the flame, hit the igniter on the left-hand side to create a spark that will start the flame. Back up the gas dial button a little and turn it left. That should start the gas on fire. Don't worry about the gas button that controls the amount of gas that comes out of your fireplace and how big the flame is. To turn off your gas fireplace, don’t reach in from the front. Reach around from  the side because the screen can burn you. Push the dial a little bit and turn right. That  turns your gas fireplace off.
